 Who are we

NFSH is a truly broad-based black economic empowerment company. More than two thirds of our shares are owned by NUNW affiliated unions:
  • Mineworker’s Union of Namibia (34.6%)
  • Capricorn Investment Holdings (32.3%)
  • Effort Investment Holdings Company (20%)
  • NAFAU Investment Holding (6.6%)
  • Namibia National Teachers Union (5.1%)
  • Zealot Investment (1.1%)
  • Namibia Farm Workers Union (0.3%)
All dividends declared by NFSH to union shareholders are paid to the respective investment trusts of the union shareholders. In terms of its objectives, each trust ploughs back the dividends to its beneficiaries. This includes amongst others education through bursaries, training, community projects, housing and health programmes for union members and their families.

 Our History

In 2002 the Namibian Mineworkers’ Investment Holding Company (Nam-mic Holdings) decided to establish the first Namibian financial services company controlled and owned by previously disadvantaged Namibians.
As a result Nam-mic Financial Services Holdings Group (Pty) Ltd (NFSH) was created on 11 October 2001 and was officially launched by His Excellency, Dr Sam Nujoma, founding president of the Republic of Namibia.
Since its establishment the NFSH Group has shown sustained growth in an environment that is highly competitive and regulated and it has managed to build a strong and sound well capitalized balance sheet.
NFSH currently has two subsidiaries, namely Nam-mic Financial Solutions (Pty) Ltd and Nam-mic Payment Solutions (Pty) Ltd.
Going forward, we believe that the continued efficient and effective provision of financial services requires that financial policies and financial system structures need to be adjusted in response to financial innovations and shifts in the broader macro-economic and institutional environment.
